Pet Urine Odor Removal
Urine in carpeting is a severe problem that can sometimes require major restoration work, not just simple cleaning and treating.
But now, with Ability Chem-Dry's Pet Urine Removal Treatment (P.U.R.T.®), your urine soaked areas can be saved. P.U.R.T.® is a revolutionary process specially formulated to eliminate urine odors forever. P.U.R.T. gives excellent results on even the most severe urine odor problems instead of simply masking the odor. Not an enzyme, which you probably have already tried, but a safe product for people and pets that REALLY works!
Facts To Know About Pet Urine In Your Carpeting:
Urine deposited on carpet does not stay there, it penetrates the fibers and contaminates both the backing of the carpet, the cushion (pad) and the flooring material below the carpet. Often, without your knowing, pets will urinate continually in the same general location. Urine odors can permeate from the floor, be it cement or wood, from the tack strip, molding, and even from the framework of the house behind the walls.
As the urine dries, the liquid evaporates but the urine crystals become even more concentrated and pungent. NO cleaning alone will remove this odor. Until recently, there was not a product available that was effective at removing urine odors. For area rugs, we must clean and decontaminate in our rug cleaning facility in N.E. Portland.
When P.U.R.T.® contacts the source of the odor, it immediately begins a chemical reaction that destroys the urine odor.
How the P.U.R.T.® process works
- The source and severity of the odor are determined by using UV lighting, electronic sensor and our nose.
- After locating the urine exactly, we can determine the amount of P.U.R.T. product required to saturate the areas.
- This is applied very heavy to each urine deposit, forcing it down into the pad and sub-floor.
- At this time we actually begin cleaning by using our HOT Carbonating extraction.
- The area is groomed and left to dry naturally for the first 24 hours. Fans can be applied after this time to expedite further odor dissipation.
- In worst cases, it can take 10 days for complete odor removal, depending on humidity, temperature, pile density, ventilation and severity.
Even when several gallons are required, the cost is a fraction of carpet replacement. If the carpet is old, worn or badly stained/damaged beyond complete restoration, then replacement should be considered.
